My Plan for Our Community

My decision to run for Parliament at the 2019 election was driven by a desire to bring the focus back to community.

I am also incredibly passionate about breaking the short-term mindset that come with election promises and instead focus on long-term strategic planning for our region to create a stronger economic future for the next generation, not just to the next election cycle.

After delivering an adult mental health centre, extra funding for headspace to increase clinical services and securing additional funding for general practices to recruit and retain doctors, I will continue to fight for northern Tasmanians to have better access to local primary health services and post-cancer survivorship care.

Iā€™m working to ensure small businesses are supported post-COVID so they can continue to invest in employing locals and to create additional apprenticeship and training opportunities, especially for young people in our region.

Improve the livability of our region by continuing to deliver on critical infrastructure and transport projects with a focus on addressing the digital discrimination faced by many in rural and regional areas to deliver improved mobile and internet services, something I have been fighting for over the past few years.

In my first speech I said I was committed to being a genuine and authentic representative for the people of northern Tasmania and believe I have demonstrated this over the past few years. I want to see voters have trust and faith in their elected representatives and have always sought to act with integrity and stand up for those who face discrimination in our community.

I am working to create a northern Tasmania that is the best place to live, whatever your age or location.

By working together, we can ensure a strong economy and a strong future.
